I have
had the privilege to begin my career under the guidance of Dr CHD Fall as
her research assistant for the MRC Indian office. I attained training at
MRC EE Unit in Southampton, which was beneficial for me in setting up the
Mumbai office and coordinating the research projects in India.
The research project at Pune requires a special mention as this project
helped me understand the impact of maternal nutrition on her child health.
My own Ph.D project was based in Pune which tried to explore the social
and cultural factors influencing nutritional status of women and young
girls in rural Maharashtra.
Currently I am working as a clinical research associate in rheumatology in
the Truro (south-west England). Ares of work involves conducting clinical
trials for the rheumatology unit, facilitating osteoporosis prevention
strategy for the trust to reduce the incidence of future fractures for the
high-risk patients in the south-west region, and interested in barriers
and facilitators for osteoporosis prevention treatment.
I am interested in the influence of socio-cultural factors affecting the
nutritional status of different population groups. Career in public health
projects especially involving long term degenerative diseases interests
me.
