I have completed MBBS at the Mysore Medical College, affiliated to Mysore University, during 1996-97. After completion of my internship, I joined the Mysore unit of MRC on the 11th of June 1997 as a medical officer. From June '97 till December '98, I was working with Dr Jacqui Hill, studying 'gestational diabetes and fetal implications'. The job involved recruitment of pregnant women, conducting clinics for them, house visits, looking after them during deliveries and also administrative job. I became the team leader and started a new project, wherein the babies from the previous project are followed up at one year and am currently involved in the above mentioned project.
This project includes a lot of counselling of mothers regarding baby's health needs, apart from the usual clinical work, house visits, administration and consultation, if the need arises. I am interested in projects, which are in line with the previous ones and would like to work more among children.
