star Neonatology: Set up Level III NICU at KEM Hospital 18 years ago. Speciality training for neonatal care for nurses, undergraduate and postgraduate medical students. Examiner for superspeciality in Neonatology.
 
star Childhood Disabilities: Set up the first multidisciplinary centre for diagnosis and management for all types of childhood disabilities - 20 years ago. This centre is a role model for India. Training imparted to Government officers, UNICEF officers and other medical and paramedical fraternity.

Pediatric Gastroenterology and Liver Diseases

 
(a)

Associated as Principal Investigator with studies on Chronic Liver Diseases in Children
in collaboration with Wellcome Trust, UK since 1980 and later with British Council for Higher Education Links in the same subject. Special interest in Wilson's Disease and Neonatal Cholestasis Syndrome.

 
(b) Special interest in diets in acute and protracted diarrheas in children. Devised the first chicken based diet with Venkateshwara Hatcheries Limited, Pune which is now marketed in India.
Has over 50 publications in national and international journals. Some research papers have won awards at National Pediatric Conferences.
