PhD in Biometry & Nutrition in 1980. Visiting Research Fellow at University of California, Berkeley, for a year. Working at Agharkar Research Institute since 1982. In-Charge of Biometry & Nutrition Group since 1988 and In-Charge of Animal Science Division since 1994. My research areas of interest are adolescent growth and nutrition, growth modelling, early life malnutrition in relation to adult size and adult diseases, maternal nutrition and child growth. I have varied interests that include field of Nutrition, Social Science, Demography and Population studies. I have 42 publications of which 13 were published in international journals, have written 2 chapters in books and have edited 2 books. Four PhD students have completed their work under me. I have presented my work in 50 national and 10 international conferences. I am a Life Member of several organisations and societies including Nutrition Society of India, Biometry Society-USA, SNEHA, IASP-Delhi, etc. I am currently a member of the Editorial Board for Biometric Monograph Series to be published by International Biometric Society, USA and Associate Editor for Public Health Nutrition -an international journal published by CAB International. I have worked as a Member, Steering Committee of Social & Economical Research in Tropical Diseases, WHO, Geneva, during 1988-1991.
