Dr PSN Menon is Additional Professor of Pediatrics at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi and is Consultant In-charge of the Pediatric Endocrinology and Genetics Division of the Department of Pediatrics. He has been a faculty member of AIIMS since 1981 and has been involved in clinical services, research and educational activities of the department and the Institute. He has over 100 publications in reputed and indexed national and international journals. He has edited the IAP Textbook of Pediatrics and the Manual of Pediatric Endocrinology. He is the Chairperson of the Pediatrics and Adolescent Endocrinology. Chapter of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics (IAP) and Vice-chairman of the Growth and Development Chapter of IAP. He is a fellow of the Indian Academy of Pediatrics and has received several prestigious awards and orations. He is the Editor of the Indian Journal of Pediatrics and member of the Editorial Boards of several prestigious journals of Pediatrics and Endocrinology. He has received financial support from national and international agencies for research projects on Genetics and Endocrinology and a member of Task Force on Genetics of the Indian Council of Medical Research. He has been involved in the development of newer and molecular genetic diagnostic tests and mapping of genes for several genetics and endocrine disorders. He is one of the pioneers who have helped to develop the subspecialty of Pediatric Endocrinology in India. In addition, he has the Sub-Dean at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences for about 6 years and has helped to develop a comprehensive examination system for various national entrance examinations. His special interests in fetal origins of adult diseases stems from deep-rooted interest in the genetics of growth and endocrine disorders of childhood. Presently, he is on a 2-year deputation as Consultant and Head of Department of Pediatrics at the Armed Forces Hospital, Kuwait.
