SNEHA from 1994 working to provide and improve the quality Early Childhood Education. SNEHA is working with Anganawadi Teachers, Parents, Department of Women and Child Development to improve the play and learning environment and learning levels of children in Anganawadi Centers.
- Play and learning environment in Anganawadi Centers is improved by painting the inside and outside walls, floor with the child friendly colours, shapes, pictures. Play and learning materials as per the syllabus are prepared by involving Teachers and Parents.
- Anganawadi Teachers are provided with 7 level on Trainings on overall development of children-Physical, Motor, Language, Cognitive, Socio-emotional development.
- 143 Anganawadi Centers from 77 villages in Ilkal block in Bagalakote district are covered to cover around 5,150 children of 3-6 years every year.
- 162 Anganawadi Centers from 73 villages in Devara Hipparagi block in Vijayapura district are covered to cover around 10,000 children of 3-6 years every year.
- Trainings for BVS(Bala Vikasa Samithi) and SDMC(School Development and Monitoring Committee) are conducted on their role and responsibilities, enrollment, retention of children, learning levels.
- Village Learning Centres are running to improve the learning levels of children who are 1st generation learners and there is no any support systems at home to support for the learning of these children. Village Learning Centres aren’t just coaching academic support, they’re also about building confidence, self-esteem and socio-emotional development in children. Everyday classes start with therapeutic activities like free conversation, dance, and group activity to create a positive and supportive learning environment. Usually the learning/achievements of children are celebrated, no matter how small and help them continue growing.
- 40 Centres are running in Ilkal block in Bagalakote to cover around 3,375 children in 3 batches studying in from 3rd to 5th standard.
- 25 Centres are running in Devara Hipparagi block in Vijayapura district to cover around 2,625 children in 3 batches studying in from 3rd to 5th standard.
